Spring Haekelbeutel

When I saw this pattern on Ravelry, I knew immediately I wanted to try it. This is the first bag I've crocheted, and I couldn't be more pleased with it. While I loved the look of Magicline yarn that some folks have used for this bag, I sadly couldn't get my hands on any around here. I used Lily Sugar n' Cream Country Stripes instead, and loved how the colors turned out! :)
The pattern was a little confusing at first, but I found some help on one of the Ravelry boards. Each row you need to increase by 2 at the beginning and at the end. So starting at row one, it would be 3 dc, 7dc, 11dc and then 15dc. I made mine in 4 rounds as I wanted a smaller bag that I could use as a purse. I also crocheted this with an F hook, as I wanted a tight, stiffer fabric.
I'm working on lining the bag today. I'm still not sure exactly how I'm going to do that, but I'm thinking I'll do it in squares and assemble the same way I put the bag together. While this photo isn't the best, these fabrics pick up the colors in the bag nicely. My daughter helped me find these buttons which I plan to attach at the handles. I'll post a pic when it's done!
Be blessed!
Amy
