This is a scarf for my precious little six year old cousin. She had an unfortunate accident last month and got burned on her face. I started this scarf while she was in the hospital. Many, many prayers are woven in along with the yarn. I'm happy to say that she's doing really well now, and the scarf is on it's way to her in today's mail. About time I got it sent, as it was 78 degrees here yesterday! I think she'll still be able to use it though, as the temperatures are supposed to be cold this weekend. This is needle knit using Bernat's Baby Bubbles, (Bubble Gum) yarn along with Bernat Softee Baby Sparkle, (Pink).
A friend of mine was knitting a dishcloth on her knitting loom, and it inspired me to give it a try. I used Sugar-N-Cream cotton yarn in Over the Rainbow color. It looked very springy and fun. The first photo is my attempt at actually knitting & purling on the loom...I found this video that helped immensely. It was so easy, it's making me think about pulling out that huge Knifty Knitter loom and attempting a small baby blanket. It does take quite a bit more time though, so it would have to a long term project. The second photo is done using the easy wrap method, but wrapping it three times instead of two. I wanted it a bit thicker than only wrapping twice was producing.
Well, that's all on the knitting front for now. I just joined a stamping card swap group, so I have a feeling that will be keeping me busy coming up soon.
Blessings,
Amy
